Author: We are planning for a honeymoon trip to Mauritius in the month of June. We are confused where to stay as the reviews offer different opinions. has someone stayed in Sand Resort ? How good or bad it is? Is it worth staying there ? We are planning to go through Travel agents and all say for 6nights they would charge 55,000 rupees. Its good to book late or soon? any thoughts/ sugessions? Please help us as we are totally new to Mauritius. Thanks in advance guys

The Sands is a very good resort. I can personally recommend it. It is a 4* hotel in the west coast of Mauritius near Flic En Flac. I spent around 5 days there and it was wonderful. It is still ok to book for June but I suggest you book as soon as possible. 55,000 rupees seems ok but you can get cheaper for sure.
Once you get to Mauritius, make sure you visit Chamarel, Black River Gorges and Ile aux Cerfs. I suggest you hire a taxi driver instead of taking pre-booked tours.
Last time I travelled to Mauritius, I booked through stayinmu and they gave me a really good rate for Sands.
